Position Overview:

G&L Corporation is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to safely operate boom trucks and other mobile crane equipment to lift, move, position, and place materials, machinery, and structural components in support of industrial, utility, and commercial projects. The Crane Operator will perform pre-operation inspections, coordinate with rigging teams, and adhere to safety and operational protocols at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate mobile cranes and boom truck cranes to lift, move, place, and position heavy loads as directed by project and site supervision.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operation and post-operation inspections of crane equipment to ensure safe and reliable performance.
  • Communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals, radio communication, or other established methods to coordinate lifts.
  • Calculate and verify load weights, capacities, and configurations to maintain compliance with equipment limitations.
  • Set outriggers, blocks, and stabilizers as required to safely lift and maneuver loads.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and minor adjustments to crane controls and systems; report equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and lift activity logs.
  • Follow all company, site, and OSHA safety regulations during setup, operation, and dismantling of crane activities.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating boom truck cranes and/or mobile cranes.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
  • Crane operator certification such as NCCCO or equivalent is preferred per industry standards.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of crane load charts and safety protocols.
  • Ability to interpret lift plans, hoisting instructions, and site documents.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with established operating procedures.
