Position Overview:
G&L Corporation is seeking a skilled Machinery Moving Rigger to support industrial rigging, machinery relocation, and equipment installation operations. This role is responsible for safely lifting, moving, and positioning heavy machinery using proper rigging gear and coordinated communication practices. The ideal candidate has hands-on rigging experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review load requirements and specifications prior to rigging operations.
- Select, inspect, and prepare rigging equipment including slings, cables, chains, blocks, and related gear.
- Attach loads securely using proper rigging techniques and equipment.
- Signal crane and equipment operators during lifting and positioning of machinery and structural components.
- Align, lift, and place heavy equipment or materials in designated locations according to project plans.
- Communicate effectively with the rigging team and site supervision to coordinate safe movement of machinery.
- Dismantle rigging equipment and conduct post-operation inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of rigging tools and equipment.
- Follow all company and site safety standards, and participate in safety briefings and training.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a rigger, ironworker, machinery mover, or similar skilled trade role.
- Strong understanding of rigging equipment, load handling practices, and safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to interpret lift plans, load charts, and work instructions.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy loads and work in industrial environments.
- Strong situational awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe work area.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work within a coordinated team.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Rigging certifications (NCCER, OSHA, or equivalent) are a plus.
