Position Overview:

G&L Corporation is seeking an experienced Jack and Slide Rigger to support transformer handling, heavy equipment movement, and precision load relocation using hydraulic jacks, slide systems, cribbing, and related rigging gear. This role is responsible for executing safe and controlled jacking, sliding, skidding, and load-transfer operations in industrial environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on jack-and-slide experience, strong mechanical and rigging knowledge, and a commitment to safety and teamwork on every project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare work areas by assessing load paths, clearances, ground conditions, and equipment requirements.
• Set up hydraulic jacks, slide systems, cribbing stacks, rails, and rigging components for load movement.
• Operate hydraulic jacks and synchronized slide systems under the direction of field supervision.
• Install, monitor, and adjust cribbing, pads, rails, and beams to maintain load stability and level movement.
• Assist with sliding, skidding, and transferring loads into final position according to engineered plans.
• Communicate with the rigging team and site leadership to coordinate controlled load movements.
• Perform pre-use and post-use inspections of jacks, pumps, hoses, rails, and rigging equipment; report deficiencies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of equipment and rigging gear.
• Follow all company, site, and OSHA safety standards; participate in safety briefings, training, and field audits.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience with jack-and-slide, skidding systems, or heavy mechanical rigging.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, cribbing principles, and controlled load movement.
• Familiarity with jacking equipment, pumps, hoses, rails, skids, and synchronized system controls.
• Ability to read and interpret basic load plans, drawings, and work instructions.
• Physical ability to lift and position materials, work on uneven surfaces, and perform labor-intensive tasks.
• Excellent situational awareness and a strong commitment to safe operating practices.
• Effective communication and ability to work as part of a coordinated team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Rigging or jacking system certifications are a plus.
