Position Overview:

G&L Corporation is seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Haul Truck Driver to safely transport oversize and overweight equipment, machinery, and specialized freight to project sites. The Heavy Haul Truck Driver ensures timely delivery, compliance with DOT and company safety standards, and professional representation of G&L in the field. The ideal candidate has experience with heavy haul loads, specialized trailers, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy haul tractors and specialty trailers to transport oversize and overweight equipment in compliance with permits and regulations.
• Safely secure loads according to equipment specifications and load distribution best practices.
• Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and trailer systems, including brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, project management, and field crews regarding ETAs, delays, and load conditions.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, permits, and necessary documentation.
• Adhere to safe driving practices at all times and respond professionally to varied traffic and road conditions.
• Assist with loading and unloading operations as needed in coordination with rigging/yard teams.

Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) with clean driving record.
• Experience in heavy haul, specialized freight, or oversize load transport preferred.
• Ability to work with specialty trailers and securement systems.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to complete and maintain accurate logs and paperwork.
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours based on project needs.
• Physical ability to assist with load securement and inspections.
